"Young Sheldon" Season 5 episode 6 "Money Laundering and a Cascade of Hormones," featured a special tribute to Ryan Davis, who unfortunately died while the series was still in progress. Davis was an acclaimed audio engineer whose work was used in numerous films and shows. He was the re-recording mixter for the show "Young Sheldon" for fifty episodes. Davis effortlessly blended every audio component together. Davis worked on reworking every aspect of sound in the show was able to highlight details such as Adult Sheldon's voice-over narration. The result is a warm layer of nostalgia. In the Season 4 premiere, he helped reveal the identity of Sheldon and Amy's future child. Davis has contributed his talent to some of these thrilling prequel scenes throughout his professional career. Davis, from "Young Sheldon's" seasons 2, 3 and 4, was buried in throwback music with funny dialogue, background suburban noise football matches, and many other elements that brought the show closer to its reality. Davis is able to use the more natural aspects of the show since the spinoff does not have the laugh track. Initially, his death caused some confusion over what he actually was doing on the show and where his role was in it.
